Tas Franklin (MBACP)
I'm a qualified and experienced counsellor / psychotherapist and can offer you a safe and confidential space where we can think together about whatever is troubling you.
There are many reasons that bring people to counselling. It may be something specific such as work problems, a bereavement or having suffered some trauma or abuse. You may be struggling with relationships or feelings of panic, anxiety and unhappiness. Whatever the cause, it is the impact on your life that brings you to me.
Some people simply want the opportunity to make sense of their life choices and experiences.
Couples often come to me when they are in crisis or feel stuck in their relationship. I can help you to think about and understand your relationship and how it can work for you.
I understand that everyone has different ways of working through their problems and I tailor my approach to fit each individual’s needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist, with additional training in working with couples, Mindfulness and Mentalization Based Treatment.
I have over 15 years of experience working within the NHS in an acute setting. As well as my private practice, I'm part of the counselling team at Mind in Barnet.
I have a background in nursing prior to training as a psychotherapist and still work part-time as a nurse. I believe this gives me a unique insight on how emotional/ psychological problems can impact on physical health.

By reading this it tells me that you have a curiosity about counselling and are perhaps wondering whether it is right for you. This in itself is an important and sometimes difficult first step. If you feel that you would like to explore it some more, then you can contact me for an initial appointment. This is an opportunity for us to meet and talk about what has brought you to counselling. It is a no-obligation meeting where you will be able to find out how I work and can decide if I am the right counsellor for you and if this is the right time for you to start counselling.
If you would like to continue, then we will agree on a convenient regular day and time which will then be reserved for you.
I offer fixed short term sessions as well as open ended longer-term counselling.
