About me

If you are looking for friendly, professional support to help you through difficult times, I am here for you. I provide a comfortable, trustworthy, confidential space within which you can feel at ease and be your true self. I am a qualified, experienced counsellor and can provide you with copies of my qualification certificates and professional body membership details upon request. I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement and trauma. It’s important that I’m the right counsellor for you so I offer a free no-obligation initial 30 minute chat to help you decide. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to their ethical guidelines. I normally work from my home which is located in Cheslyn Hay (between Cannock and Walsall). There is free parking outside on the drive and there are good bus and train services. The nearest bus stop is just along the road and the nearest train station is Landywood. I am not seeing people face to face in person at present though due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My business offers accessible space with a ground floor counselling room, refreshments and toilet available. A warm friendly welcome waits for you if you choose to make the first step. Call, text or email me today for a short chat to see if I can help you. My times are flexible and your first session could take place within a few days of your call to me if you so desire. As well as working from my office, I offer home visits, telephone or online counselling (video or text) to suit your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working towards accreditation. I volunteer as a Counsellor at a local youth organisation where I work with children, young people and adults from 9 to 25 years old and I practice as a Wellbeing Worker too in GP practices around Staffordshire. These can include Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) including Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Theory, Transactional Analysis, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused therapy.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
