Echo Counselling And Psychotherapy - Tara Jones-Pitts BSc Hons Accredited MBACP
I am a experienced, qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Supervisor working with many different issues including depression, bereavement, anxiety, addictions, relationships problems, affairs and betrayals, anger issues and sexual abuse amongst many others. You may decide you would like counselling for a particular issue, but sometimes you may just be aware you need help, not quite being able to "put your finger on the problem".
I provide a confidential, non judgemental, safe and comfortable environment allowing you room to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I work integratively which allows therapy to be tailored to your individual needs. I recognise that every person is unique so what suits one person may not suit another.
I am sensitive to cultural and ethnic origins of individuals and to people's religious beliefs and sexual orientation. I operate my practice along the lines normally associated with an equal opportunities employer.
I offer a face to face, email and telephone, short and long term therapy.
I am fully insured and I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy adhering to their ethics for good practice.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

WHAT IS COUNSELLING
Counselling is a place where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and actions confidentially without being judged.
HOW CAN COUNSELLING HELP
The aim of the therapeutic process is to help you understand and accept yourself, to change behaviour to that which is more productive for you and to help you move towards the kind of person you want to be. Therapists are trained to look beyond the presenting problems to possible underlying causes. In the right environment, you and your therapist can work together to gain a better perspective about whatever is troubling you.
