About me

Hello, thankyou for taking the time to look at my profile.

My name is Tara and I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor. I have experience with clients from all walks of life, including issues around depression, self-esteem, substance misuse, past trauma, anxiety, relationships with others and many more.

Sometimes talking to friends or family can seem quite difficult and feel overwhelming or vulnerable. If there are things you want to talk about, express and explore, then I can work with you in a safe, calm and confidential way, at your own pace. I give the example of therapy like unpacking a suitcase and sorting through the contents. It is for you to grow further, understand yourself more, feel empowered and have acceptance of things.

This is your time and space to explore what you want without judgement and express yourself freely.

Appointments are arranged mutually, usually every week, at the same day and time, (which we can talk about in our initial consultation) and last for 50 minutes to an hour. Sessions are client led and can be short or long term.

If you would like to know more or have a free 15 minute consultation, please feel free to contact me and see if I can work with you.

If I do not answer, please leave a message or text as I may be with a client, or email, and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have experience and interest in working with adult children of alcoholics and the impact this has in life. Exploring how we form relationships with others and gaining a better understanding of ourselves, can lead to finding acceptance and/or clarity.
