Tanya Sammut BSc (Hons), RMN, BABCP (accred)
Welcome to my profile,
I use a range of techniques and interventions to help people overcome their difficulties.
CBT, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, is a talking therapy that has been proven to help treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions. CBT looks at how we think about a situation and how this affects the way we act. CBT provides strategies to help manage distressing conditions that impact on the quality of a person’s life.
EMDR is a powerful psychological therapy helps people to overcome traumatic memories. It enables people to heal from symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
I have experience of working within the NHS, private practice, a national charity and also as a serving Mental Health Nurse in the British Army. Within these roles, I have been fortunate to work with a variety of people with a wide range of presenting issues, most commonly anxiety conditions such as generalised anxiety, social anxiety, low-self esteem and PTSD.
I also have an interest in holistic approaches to healthy living and wellbeing. As a nutritional advisor and personal trainer I am aware of how our habits and behaviours in this area can impact on how we feel and how it is easy to become stuck, often impacting on our levels of self-compassion and self-esteem.
All interventions are evidence based and comply with NICE guidelines
