Counsellor/Psychotherapist, MSc. MBACP

About me

Do you feel like no-one understands how hard you try? You’re exhausted by holding everything together or constantly having to hide parts of who you are? This may sound familiar if you have anxiety or low self esteem or are ADHD or Autistic, are parenting a neurodivergent child, or healing from past trauma. Whatever the reason, therapy can help you replenish yourself, increase your confidence and create a life you truly love living.

Does it seem like no matter how much you do, it’s never enough, your own needs and identity are constantly sidelined? Perhaps you’re drained, disconnected, and starting to feel resentful. Like you’re surviving each day rather than truly living?

If this resonates with you or you’re looking for compassionate, understanding and inclusive therapy please get in touch.

Counselling isn’t just about sitting down and having a chat, and it’s not only for when you feel like you can no longer cope. It offers you a space where you can truly be yourself, without pressure to meet anyone else’s expectations. It’s time set aside just for you, to reflect, grow, and make lasting changes that lead to a calmer, more fulfilling life.

Previous clients have told me that therapy helped them feel more accepted and understood, heal from past pain and trauma, become calmer, more resilient and emotionally regulated. They developed greater confidence in their uniqueness and recognised their self worth.

Counselling can help you

  • Increase your resilience to cope with and challenge a world that expects you and your loved ones to conform instead of celebrating who you are.
  • Develop practical tools to recover from overwhelm, burnout and sensory overload, and your daily challenges, so you have more energy and capacity for the people and activities you love.
  • Realise your self worth, develop your self confidence and increase your self compassion so you can create the life you want.
  • Find connection so you feel less alone, more accepted and find healthier and more supportive relationships.

I am a fully qualified, BACP registered counsellor/psychotherapist. I have years of experience in therapy, the NHS and schools and specialise in supporting clients with

  • Low self-esteem and anxiety
  • Neurodivergence including ADHD and autism
  • Parenting neurodivergent children
  • Managing the weight of stigma, rejection, masking and the constant pressure to conform
  •  Chronic overwhelm

Areas I work with include:

Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem • Identity • Grief and loss • Trauma • Healing past wounds • Relationship and family challenges • Parenting • Perimenopause and Menopause • OCD • Disordered eating • Neurodivergence • Stress

About me

I started my private practice because I know how deeply painful it is to feel unseen, misunderstood or shamed, whether it's you or your child being asked to "just try harder" in a world that won’t adapt. I've seen how this impacts confidence, relationships, and happiness.

I offer welcoming and inclusive counselling, where your unique experiences and perspectives are honoured. Where you don’t have to fear being judged, don’t have to explain or mask.

I have supported many clients to make changes, challenge the negative messages, to recognise their unique strengths, value themselves and develop the confidence to create a fulfilling life. I’d love to help you too.

Specialisms

Neurodiversity

If you're neurodivergent, or parenting a neurodiverse child, you may feel misunderstood, judged, or like you're surviving rather than living. The pressure to mask, fit in, or justify yourself can be exhausting and lead to burnout, shame, and isolation.

With extensive experience supporting ADHD and Autistic adults, and parents and caregivers, you won’t have to mask or explain, your way of being will be respected. In our sessions, you can begin to challenge the negative messages and reconnect with your strengths, your voice, and yourself.

Stress and Perfectionism

If you're burnt out and overwhelmed, I understand how deeply this can affect your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Having worked in high pressure corporate environments, I know through therapy, you can restore balance, change how you manage pressure and move forward with clarity and confidence.

If you are ready to explore how your life can change, need support through emotional challenges or would just like to find out more, please get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Our sessions will allow to feel truly heard and understood. You will have the opportunity to talk about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a compassionate and non-judgmental environment. I will work with you to gently explore the challenges you are facing and help you gain clarity and deeper insight into your life.

I offer a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Gestalt therapy, Humanistic therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and short term therapeutic coaching. I can integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as needed to tailor our sessions to your needs.

I believe the connection between client and counsellor is vitally important. For this reason, I offer a free 20 minute introductory session online, to give us the opportunity to meet with each other and for you to see how it would be to have me as your counsellor.
