About me

I work online and in Cambridge offering short or long-term counselling. My aim is to provide a warm, safe and confidential environment in which clients feel comfortable to talk about their lives. I also offer supervision to other counsellors and therapists.

Coming to counselling can be daunting and finding the right counsellor is crucial.  Building trust and forging a relationship is essential and I am committed to every client - the focus is very much on the individual.

As an Accredited Member of the BACP, I adhere to its Ethical Framework.

How I work:
I offer a mix and match style of counselling using a variety of techniques and working with different approaches (in counselling terms this is called an integrative person-centred approach).  I feel it is important to recognise that we are all different and therefore we all have different needs – what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another.

If you would like to learn more about how I work and what counselling is, please text or leave a voicemail, or you can email me and I will get back to you.

As well as working in Private Practice I work with a number of EAP providers and University of Cambridge Colleges. I also offer professional supervision to other counsellors and therapists.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
