About me

** Therapy during Covid 19

In addition to my usual information below, I have adapted my practise to provide video and telephone sessions to existing and new clients and supervisees in addition to face to face appointments as appropriate. I have training in this area and am comfortable with the process. If you would like to enquire more about how this might work for you, feel welcome to contact me through this site.

Sessions are held in much the same way, on a prescheduled day and time for the therapeutic hour of 50 minutes or as appropriate for children. **

Welcome to my Counselling Directory profile. I am a registered member of the UKCP and a BACP senior accredited integrative psychotherapist and clinical supervisor.

I have a strong belief in the importance of a humanistic base and working with an integrative approach, which provides a theoretical foundation for me to work with you using a combination of therapeutic techniques best suited to individual requirements and the issues that you would like to work through. I work confidently and in an empathic, gentle yet focused manner in both long and short term frameworks.

I have worked in mental health for over 20 years, qualifying as an integrative counsellor in 2004, and am experienced in working with children, adolescents, young people, adults and the elderly for a wide range and depth of issues, for example anxiety and depression, panic attacks, school, exam and work related stress, family, relationship or employment issues, addiction, physical and mental health conditions, bereavement, transition and loss, spirituality, and working with people through life stages or events to support the development of Self and meaning.

I understand that finding the right person and deciding to meet a new counsellor or therapist to begin a piece of self development work is an investment on many levels. If it helps, I am happy to arrange to talk on the telephone or through email to answer any questions you might have. We can then arrange for an initial assessment session.

I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate work within the BACP and UKCP ethical frameworks from a professional office in Hemel Hempstead with good parking facilities.

If you feel drawn to working with me, please feel welcome to contact me.

Warm wishes
Tania

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
