About me
Whether you know exactly why you want therapy or your reasons feel vague but important, I'd like to help you get to the heart of it.
Perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, lost, numb, disconnected, or struggling with your confidence or relationships. Perhaps you are feeling okay-ish but want something different or more from life.
Exploring this with a skilled listener who doesn't judge can really make a difference. As an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I listen carefully and engage in a focused way with you to help you towards your goals, whether they be understanding, vitality, healing, growth, change, action or anything in between.
What to expect in weekly sessions
Working with me in weekly sessions, you choose what to focus on and I listen with engagement, compassion and care. I offer reflections and even gently challenge, always with the intention of movement towards your goals. Our conversations are confidential.
As an integrative and transpersonal therapist, I use different models of therapy to meet your needs. Although every person's therapy is different, some examples of what we might explore include:
- what is happening for you in the here and now and what you want for the future;
- your previous relationships and experiences and how they may have shaped the way you think, feel and act today;
- your sense of emotional connection and practising processing emotions in a compassionate and safe space;
- background narratives that may be a strength or a hindrance to your life and goals;
- using your imagination and creativity to support you in connecting with the parts of yourself that evade conversational language, such as paying attention to images, dreams, and the arts;
- how your nervous system might be impacting you and how to soothe it;
- your experience, connection with and identity in the wider systems that we are a part of - ecologically, spiritually, socially.
All of this is in the context of building a strong relationship of trust, which is the ongoing and most important element of our work together. The research tells us that this is the most reliable indicator that your therapy will be successful..
A bit more about my background
Further to my therapeutic qualifications and experience detailed below, I have a professional background in operations, technology, and leadership in the private and third sectors so I understand the joys and challenges that come with this kind of work. My ethnicity is mixed, with English and Jamaican heritage and I was born and have lived mostly in the UK. Some clients may wish to explore their own racial identity in therapy with me.
Getting started
I offer a free introductory 15 minute call (book via my website) so you can get a feel for who I am and if I may be a good fit for you.
If you decide to go ahead, the first full session will include an assessment which can have therapeutic value in itself. Beforehand, I will send you an optional questionnaire exploring why you are looking for therapy now, your history and background, and what your hopes are for the work. In the initial session you will more fully experience how I work as a therapist and I will cover some practical things like confidentiality.
At the end of this session, we can then agree and discuss if it feels appropriate to continue to weekly sessions. Where possible, I offer well suited referrals if I am not best placed to help you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling from Re-vision, a well-respected counselling and psychotherapy training institution in London and a First Class Undergraduate degree in Psychology and Philosophy from The University of Sheffield.
I run a private practice in Bristol, Chippenham and online and have previously worked at Network's Community Counselling service in Bristol.
I've worked with clients for a range of issues including overcoming anxiety, depression, stress and burnout; healing from trauma, abuse and emotional wounds; moving through bereavement; connecting with emotions and developing emotional capacity and regulation; developing healthy boundaries; confidence and self-compassion; navigating personal and work relationships; finding purpose and meaning; exploring racial identity; and integrating experiences of expanded states of consciousness.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
