Have you been finding it difficult to deal with your emotions, feeling low, struggling with feelings of shame, guilt, low self-esteem, and little confidence in yourself? Are you getting upset or tearful because of loss, bereavement, trauma, a breakdown in a relationship or difficulties in your family? You may be unsure why you’re feeling this way or there may be a clear reason. Your difficulties could be in your personal life, in you relationships or due to work. You may be in a professional or a volunteer role where you support and help other people which at times can make you feel stressed, drained, emotional or angry.
Our Insight Services delivered by Tameside Oldham and Glossop Mind have a range of options for you to pick from. You can request to have Counselling, Solution focused coaching, individual or group supervision. All income for this service goes back into the organisation for its charitable purposes.
Our Insight counselling service will offer you the opportunity to work through the difficulties you are experiencing in your life, either personal or professional. You will be assigned to a counsellor who will provide a non-judgmental and safe environment for you to explore you difficulties confidentially.
We will offer you a 25 minute free phone or face to face consultation and we will aim to book you in for your first counselling session within 2 weeks from the day you got in touch with us. The cost for a counselling sessions is £40. Concessions are available for student counsellors willing to undertake counselling as part of their degree.
Our counsellors have experience in a variety of approaches that complement their person centred approach and are trained by some of the best educational institutions in the North West. Please contact us if you would like more specific information about the type of service that is offered.
We understand that working with the public can be challenging and rewarding. It is important to have a confidential space to reflect and grow from these experiences, as well as learning from peers. The supervision space is also a place to learn and take contextual issues which can impact on your frontline work. You may be managing a team or staff member that struggles that you would like to refer to this service. Our supervision model has shown to be effective with frontline and managerial staff.
We provide supervision to a range of professionals and volunteers, in particular people in social care roles, in stressful environments, or in roles prone to burn-out. We also provide group and individual counselling and psychotherapy supervision. This service is delivered by our experienced and specifically trained practitioners.
The rate for individual supervision is £50 per hour and £20 per person for group supervision.

If you feel that you are in crossroads in your personal or professional life and you think that you could benefit from a goal orientated approach this is for you. In your Solution Focused Coaching sessions you will work on a one to one basis identifying the problems, deciding which one you want to work on and learning tools and techniques to help you to find a solution. The sessions cost for this approach is £40.
Training, qualifications & experience
Our counsellors have experience in a variety of approaches that complement their person centred approach and are trained by some of the best educational institutions in the North West.
The Insight service is managed and monitored by our BACP registered accredited counsellor and TOG Mind is a member organisation of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Similarly the supervision model is delivered by our qualified supervisor and our trained Senior Practitioners.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Solution Focused Coaching: £40
Group Supervision: £20 per person
Individual Supervision: £40 per hour
