A warm hello! My name is Tamara and I am a professionally qualified counsellor. Throughout my life, my experience growing up in the Caribbean and moving to England to live, have given me an insightful and well-rounded view of a hugely diverse way of life. An experience, which have given me a passion and drive to help others cope with different life challenges.
My aim is to assist people to explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth and to help clients find ways in coping with these root causes. The model(s) of therapeutic practice I use in work is person-centred approach. I was trained for 3 years, based on a psychotherapeutic counselling. Which,allows me to help with a range of common human problems, in a safe and warm environment.
I am an excellent and compassionate listener and work long-term/open-ended and short-term/brief therapies. I explore the client’s past, present and future, then using different techniques and skills, which will help you become whole, resolve your issues and achieve your goals.The primary focus , is creating a positive change. Counselling involves talking about sensitive issues and as an ethical therapist, I will listen, encourage and support you without judging or criticising.
Training, qualifications & experience
My qualifications include, Diploma in Hypnotherapy, Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory, followed by an Advance Psychotherapeutic Counselling Diploma. Membership Accredited Registrant, with the National Counselling Society
My experiences are in the voluntary sector 3 years +. I provide counselling on a one to one basis for adults from different backgrounds, such as anxiety , stress , domestic violence , family issues .I provide clients the pace to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter in a safe , confidential , environment. I am also , a voluntary counsellor working with the Children's Mental Health charity Place2be. Providing emotional and therapeutic service in a primary school, based in Liverpool. Building children's resilience through talking, creative work and play .
I am committed to maintain and enhance my knowledge and skills. Therefore , on a monthly basis i am continuing professional development.
