About me
I am licensed in the UK with 15 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with coping with addictions, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process
I am offering a confidential counselling service for couples or individuals in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Scarborough and Bridlington Region. The service I offer can be one to one or online counselling (Facetime, Skype or Zoom.)
I have a non-judgemental and accepting approach. I am good at listening and supporting and will help you identify negative emotions or behaviours that will enable you to move towards growth and fulfilment in your life.
One of the most important parts of your journey is for you to connect and feel at ease with me, therefore I am offering an initial 30-minute confidential assessment free of charge, so you can meet with me and decide for yourself. This gives you the opportunity for us to highlight areas of concern that you may have and for me to hear how you would like things to progress and whether my counselling process is appropriate for your needs.
As a counsellor, I abide by the ethical framework required by the BACP, my networking abilities and my experience within the community has given me the insight and skills to work with people from all types of social and ethnic backgrounds.
I am an experienced health trainer and have helped motivate many people in areas of nutrition, mental health and lack of physical activity. A large part of my ethos and training has been to examine human behavioural patterns, exploring the barriers and different theories that trigger negative responses that continually make a person unhappy. When we become aware of our barriers change can happen towards a happier and healthier life.
I am enthusiastic about the service I provide and have a good relationship with ancillary and signposting services within the community; using my excellent communication skills to help direct clients to the right areas of additional support.
I do have dyslexia and found that this has not stopped me with my written or verbal skills. I have found that it has helped in building trust with clients who have dyslexia, can't read or write, or any disability, it makes me human and not perfect which people can relate to.
I hold an enhanced CRB disclosure and I am insured.
If I sound like the kind of counsellor you would like to see, please drop me a line or give me a call. Early appointments available weekly.
Kind regards

Training, qualifications & experience
Training, qualifications & experience
My Experience is such that for the last 10 years I have worked with clients that have suffered many different issues, which includes Childhood/Adult Sexual Abuse, Mental or Physical Abuse and Rape. Survivors of sexual abuse may battle with depression and become involved with substance abuse, alcohol or self-harm as a way of coping with their predicament. Unfortunately, these coping methods are temporary and may harm the survivor further.
My Qualifications
Diploma in Counselling Study and Skills.
Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in Counselling Studies.

As part of my continued professional development (CPD) I have just completed Level 2 understanding Autism and Level 2 in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
