Tahira Hussain - MBACP (Accred) Counsellor/Psychotherapist
About Me and How I Work?
My name is Tahira, and I have over 12 years of experience in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am an accredited/registered member of the BACP. My practice is based in East London and I am currently offering therapy via telephone and video calls. (Zoom/Skype).
I also offer face to face sessions, which will resume after the Covid-19 restrictions are removed.
I have extensive experience working with; different cultural backgrounds & nationalities, honour based abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, phobias, relationship issues, female genital mutilation (FGM), bereavement, rape, sexual violence, childhood abuse and a wide range of mental health issues.
Trying to find the right therapist can be a daunting task. You may find it difficult to seek therapy from someone who you feel does not relate to your culture and experiences.
Coming from a South Asian background myself, I am aware of the stigma attached to mental health and how people of colour struggle to ask for help.
My priority is to support you in dealing with your trauma, help restore peace and clarity and heal emotional wounds in a safe confidential space.
Still confused and unsure if therapy is for you? Call me (07903099368) or email me (email@example.com) for a quick no obligation chat.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
