About me

If you've reached a point where you need some extra support from someone completely separate from your personal life, who is professional, understanding and approachable, then please do get in touch. The idea of seeking counselling can be a daunting prospect, but please be assured that only good things can come from being brave and taking that step. We all need a bit of extra support at certain times in our lives.

I am bound by my ethical guidelines as a member of the National Counselling Society, so all information given will be completely confidential.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Specific experience working with Young People

Animal Assisted Therapy; this is a niche approach to counselling, which can be particularly helpful to young people or those who are particularly anxious about seeking therapy.  Bear is a Yorkipoo who is there to offer unconditional support and comfort to anyone who wishes to explore this option.  Research supports Animal Assisted Therapy in helping with reducing anxiety levels and improving overall well-being.

£40 per 50 minutes

£30 per 50 minutes for student counsellors

Weekend sessions carry a £10 surcharge

Payment required as either cash or bank transfer & to be paid on the day. Initial sessions require a 50% deposit, to me made at least 24 hours in advance to confirm the booking.  In case of cancellation; within 48 hours, a 50% charge will be required, and within 24 hours, the full fee will be payable.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.
