Suzanne Curry Registered MBACP
Life can be challenging and difficult at times and when things are like this counselling can help in so many ways. It may be that there is something going on in your life currently and you need someone to listen and to help you explore what is happening or aspects from the past may need resolving.
You may be going through a specific thing is your life such as: infertility, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship issues, depression, work pressures, long term health issues or the loss of a loved one. Counselling gives you the opportunity to explore whatever is happening in your life in a safe, confidential, non judgemental space. I work in a integrative way using different aspects and forms of counselling to meet the needs of my clients.
In 2008 something I was going through in my own life led me to see a counsellor. I got so much from the sessions they really were life changing for me and provided a much needed lifeline at that time. I saw first hand the benefits that counselling can bring to an individual, so when I took redundancy from my job I knew I wanted to retrain and become a counsellor myself.
I have worked for MIND the mental health charity and for Rape Crisis so my experience is varied. My client work has covered many different areas such as: infertility, bereavement, anxiety, panic attacks, transgender, confidence issues, loss of identity, problems at work, bullying and trauma such as sexual abuse or rape. I have worked with clients both short term seeing them for up to 10 sessions to longer term 6 months and over. Together we will find what works best for you depending on what you need.
In our sessions we will look at what is going on for you in your life. By working together I hope the counselling sessions will give you an understanding of yourself and enable you to make the changes you want to move forward.
Before becoming a counsellor I worked in the corporate world for large blue chip companies so I can also empathise with clients on how busy and stressful day to day life can be and how important it is to have a work life balance.
I am a qualified and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and use the BACP Ethical framework in every aspect of my work with clients you can find out more about this on their website. I have monthly clinical supervision to ensure I am working in the best way I can for you.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please email me or give me a call for an initial conversation.

It is important to work with a counsellor who feels right for you so I suggest either meeting in person, a skype call or talking on the phone for an initial session, which will last approx.30 mins. In this session we will look at why you want counselling and what to expect from our sessions and how we will work together moving forward. It gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. There is no cost for this initial session.
If you decide you would like to work with me my counselling sessions are for 1 hour and the fee is £45. Payment can be made by cash on the day or by bank transfer, which needs to be made in advance of our sessions together. I do have some concessions available for students or clients on a low income.
I am happy to do sessions on skype if you are unable to meet in person.
