About me

My name is Suzanna and I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, Supervisor and a member of the BACP.

I offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore the mental blocks or emotional problems that are keeping you stuck or affecting your ability to reach your potential. I work with warmth and connection to help you attain insight into your personal issues and gain the ability to move forward.

I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I am trained in a range of different therapeutic techniques. My approach to therapy is non-prescriptive and informed by each client's individual needs. Through our meeting, assessing what you wish to gain from therapy and the relationship we build together, the work we do may include elements drawn from the cognitive, psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and transpersonal. Other elements may include mindfulness or Sensorimotor based approaches.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a keen interest in the connection between mind and body and I have taken advanced training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a method which brings neurological understanding as well as the body's own innate intelligence to inform and aid the process of therapy. This approach can be particularly helpful for clients with trauma or attachment issues or simply for those who feel stuck in negative thinking and anxiety or a persistent sense of overwhelm. Working with the body can actually help us calm and regulate our thoughts and is a very useful addition to talking therapy, if one wishes to connect with their felt sense of themselves and inner world as well as their mental processes and habitual patterns of thinking.

I am 12 step literate and I work with addictive issues and compulsive behaviour, as well as underlying issues of addiction such as depression, trauma and childhood abandonment and neglect. I also work with co-dependency and relationship issues, anger management, low self-esteem, work related stress and anxiety, bereavement & loss and life transitions.

Throughout the course of my training, I worked as a counsellor within a charitable organisation and the NHS, offering both short term counselling and longer term therapy. I am based in Clapham, South London and I have been working clinically with clients since 2010.
