About me

Hello, my name is Sushil and I am a qualified, experienced, UKCP accredited psychotherapist. Over the last 15 years I have been providing one to one therapy to clients in south London and Surrey (Coulsdon & Purley).

I obtained my Masters in Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education (CCPE, London). I am knowledgable and skilled in various therapeutic approaches such as psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and transpersonal. Through an integrative approach, I have helped numerous clients presenting with a variety of conflicts and struggles including anxiety, depression, abuse, anger management, relationship and attachment issues, substance abuse, parenting and family issues, identity and self - esteem.

When it comes to therapy, the process can be life changing. Sometimes we may find that it's time to confront issues and to make some very necessary changes. It's during these challenging times, life choices or decisions can feel daunting, overwhelming and very confusing. Finding a good working relationship with a therapist during these times can help you feel less alone and help you to move forward instead of feeling stuck.

My role as a therapist is not to judge or tell you what to do. Instead, I want to help you see your situation more clearly and encourage you to find your own voice and trust in your inner wisdom. The journey of therapy is a joint process, which enables your true self to unfold bringing about greater sense of authenticity and true joy to your life.

As a therapist, I have had the experience of working within key organisations including the NHS, the Priory, The Awareness Centre (Clapham Junction) as well my own private practice. I can work effectively offering short term solution focused therapy as well as long term, open-ended therapy, addressing issues at a deeper level.

Offering a safe, relaxed and non-judgemental environment, l aim to facilitate the exploration of personal issues enabling clients to break-free of destructive thoughts and behaviours. Helping clients to gain consciousness of their patterns, unresolved issues and understanding their limiting beliefs can lead to healing, growth and change.

Focusing on honesty and truth, I help clients achieve understanding of themselves leading to a more integrated sense of self and clearer direction in life. My intuitive and empathic qualities help clients to feel contained and understood. Insight achieved through the joint process builds self-awareness leading to renewed hope and often, transformation.

With a background in acting, marketing & PR, I can relate to issues within the creative and corporate professions such as realising self-worth, managing stress, work place bullying and life transitions. I also have an interest in relationship issues including co-dependency, love addiction and intimacy.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I also work with issues of self-esteem, coming to terms with childhood issues including attachment and complex relational trauma, and finding meaning and purpose in life.

From a more personal perspective, my British Asian ethnicity means that I am
able to work with conflicts related to culture, one's sense of belonging and identity.
