About me

About You Counselling Service

Hello my name is Susan but most people call me Sue.

I know the first steps are the hardest, reaching out for support for whatever has thrown your life off balance. I will listen to whatever you fetch to counselling and I will try to empower you to find your own way forward. Together we can uncover your inner thoughts, feelings and emotions to enable you to cope with life and its ups and downs.

I am a qualified professional Humanistic, Integrative, Person Centred Counsellor. I work from my own purpose built, confidential, inviting counselling room. Here I see people who may be struggling to cope with what life has thrown their way. No matter what the problem is, I offer kindness, confidentiality and empathy in a valuing non-judgemental way.

We all have times in our lives when we may suffer from Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Relationship problems, Family issues, Health problems etc. It can be easier talking things through with somebody who is not related or knows you. Someone who understands what you are going through. I have many life skills and personal experience, which will help me to understand your situation.

As well as working in private practice I have also previously volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care Services where I saw children and adults to give grief support. I previously volunteered with Cruse for over 3 years. Working with talking therapy and creative art/sand-tray therapy, adults and children can express themselves more and at a deeper level.

I also worked with children in school settings where I have volunteered for 3 years with children/youths from 12 years old through to 16- 18 years.

I hope to be able to help you and I look forward to hearing from you, I understand that taking the first step is the hardest, but I will make the process as easy as possible for you.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me on 07514787806 or click here to send me an email and you can have a free consultation, to see if you are ready to take the next step. I’m here to listen to you and will be there to support you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
