About me

Hello and welcome.

I am a Therapeutic Counsellor and can work children, teens or adults with a variety of issues. I know, from experience, that finding the right counsellor can feel very daunting, especially with so many profiles to read so I'll try to keep it simple.

Are you are feeling low, or do you feel stressed? Would you like to feel less overwhelmed, have more confidence or maybe you just want to feel happy? Then get in touch. I am told I am approachable, warm and easy to talk to.

I provide private a confidential, non-judgmental, safe space in Hull where you can feel comfortable opening up about your inner most thoughts and feelings.

Having support with your feelings can help you to make changes that can lead to a happier more fulfilling life.

Certain life experiences can lead to unwanted symptoms! And similarly an individual may not know what is casing them distress and they still have the same unwanted symptoms. Either way it can leave people feeling disconnected from themselves and the people in their lives. What ever the reason for your unwanted symptoms, exploring this with me could help to relieve the symptoms of stress and allow you to focus upon the things that make you feel happier.

Parents/carers

I have a wealth of experience working with the parents of children who are struggling. Are you confused with being able to manage your child's emotions? are their emotions making it difficult to parent your child? does it seem like other parents are managing and you are the only ones not coping? Then get in touch, I can help!

I also have many years experience of working with children/teens and pride myself on my ability to understand and relate to a child's emotional and social age. Building up a good relationship with a child is a beginning of their recovery.

Feedback I have had includes "Thank you Sue, my relationship with my daughter is the best it has ever been!"  and "I understand why my son behaves the way he does and now I can work out what his needs are, thank you for all you have done".

Making the change

My promise to you is to listen without judgement and offer you the integrity, care and encouragement that can help you to be in control of your feelings, to sleep better and to be less overwhelmed with life. This can reduce the feelings of anxiety and anger.  With my support you can begin to experience the small changes that can give you the confidence to make the bigger changes which can then lead to having happier life experiences. By exploring your unique needs and experiences in an place of acceptance and compassion, I aim to enable you to express emotions whilst discovering your own potential to grow.

My room

Is private, warm and comfortable. It is not far from the city centre and it is also on a bus route should that be needed.

I take great pride in my work and feel privileged to be able to sit alongside individuals as they work through their issues.

All counselling sessions are held in strict confidentiality and I comply with the BACP code of ethics.
