At times in our lives we can feel as if we are not heard and counselling provides a space for you to be really listened to. Counselling offers a safe, confidential and non-judgmental approach where you can discuss whatever difficult issues you are experiencing in your life.
I specialise in Trauma and loss. Currently working for an organisation that deals with adults who have experienced or been affected by childhood sexual abuse and rape. Having previously worked for a GP practice where I offered both short and long term counselling on a 1 to 1 basis to clients suffering from a number of issues such as Anxiety, Depression, mental health and bereavement to name only a few. I can also offer couples and family therapy if required. Eating issues is a specialist area that I work with due to my background in food and nutrition.
I have experience in working with the ex-patriot community and the difficulties of resettling, also the loss and change that this can cause.
Being centrally based in Kilmaurs, which is in East Ayrshire, Ayr is only 25 minutes away, Irvine 15 minutes and Kilmarnock 5 to 10 minutes. I can also offer appointments in Dalmellington which is easily accessed from many areas in and around South Ayrshire as well as Dumfries and Galloway. Being easily accessed by other local authorities such as North Ayrshire, and being flexible with appointments I can accommodate early morning sessions, evenings and weekends which may suit anyone if you are working 9 till 5.
I am a warm and approachable therapist who can provide you with the safe space that you need to work through these difficulties that may be causing you distress, as at times in our lives we can all feel overwhelmed and this is okay, however, having someone who can help you to work through these difficult times and make them seem more manageable.
