Susan Ellison MSc, MBACP (Accred) Counsellor
56 University Street
I am a professionally qualified counsellor with experience in working with a range of presenting issues including depression and anxiety, anger issues, social anxiety, panic disorder, feeling sad, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, work stress, bullying, relationship problems, emotional and physical abuse, bereavement and unresolved childhood issues.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and I adhere to their code of ethics and framework for good practice. I am in regular supervision and follow an ongoing programme of continuing professional development.
During my eight years of continuous practice I have developed specialisms in self harming behaviour, addiction and complex mental health
I offer a confidential non-judgmental counselling service for individual adults, couples and families. I offer a regular space and time for you to explore any issues/problems that may be causing you stress or anxiety and help you find new ways to live your life more effectively.
What can you expect after contact?
If you decide to contact me, an initial assessment session will be offered, giving us the opportunity to meet. This will allow you to get a sense of what it would be like to work in this safe, confidential environment. During the session, you will have space to discuss what your concerns may be, ask questions and think about how you feel therapy may help you. From this point, we can decide together how to proceed. Short and long term therapy are available.
