I counsel to try to create a safe space to help you find your own solutions and I usually work as briefly as possible. My practice may integrate Mindfulness and cognitive based strategies when appropriate. My usual work is about coping with depression, anxiety, work related stress, or bereavement.
As a supervisor, I can work with both qualified counsellors and University/college trainees.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited, registered counsellor/psychotherapist and practiced since 1999. Also I am a supervisor and trainer. I have experience of working in G.P. practice, hospice, hospitals and the NHS. I have worked with people experiencing difficulties within an Occupational Health setting and also the cancer area and trauma. I have been a college lecturer of counselling and also taught assertiveness, verbal and non-verbal communication and grief & loss.
Advanced Diploma in Counselling. 2000.
P.G. Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Diploma in Supervision.
Cert. Ed. Post compulsory sector.
My training has included Brief Therapies, PTSD, Integrated Mindfulness, N.L.P & hypnotherapy and EMDR.
