About me

Psychotherapy for children, adolescents and young adults and parents,

Mental Health & Well-Being Services

I am a specialist Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, having worked with children and families for over 15 years in various settings. I work with children, teenagers, young adults, parents and families.

Child psychotherapy can help with a wide range of problems including:

  • Anxiety
  • Anger and aggression
  • Depression
  • Eating and feeding problems
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Low self-esteem
  • Low mood
  • School-related issues, including school refusal and bullying
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Oppositional behaviour
  • Self-harm
  • Difficulties related to trauma and abuse
  • Issues related to sexuality or gender
  • Wetting and soiling

I offer short-term and long term therapy

Parent Support Work

The purpose of parent work is to support and offer a space in which thinking can occur about the different dynamics that may be present in the relationships involving the child and those that are parenting.

There is a growing evidence base to support the effectiveness of child psychotherapy in treating a range of emotional and mental health difficulties.

Child psychotherapy is a recommended treatment for depression in children and young people according to clinical guidance provided by NICE (National Insitute for Clinical Excellence).

Research evidence also suggests a significant 'sleeper' effect in psychodynamic psychotherapy whereby the benefits and positive effects of psychotherapy continue long after treatment has ended.
