I provide counselling to individuals, couples, families, and children. I work using various approaches but mainly systemic and transactional analysis. I started my career in counselling in 1982 whilst training as a psychiatric nurse and then once qualified I continued with psychotherapy training both analytical and transactional analysis. I later trained as a relationship counsellor with Relate and have a post-graduate diploma in systemic counselling.
I have spent the last three years studying and working with children with special needs in educational and private settings and have a special interest in autism, communication difficulties and the needs of families with neurodiverse children and adults. My current studies are working towards a National Autistic Society Post Graduate Diploma run by Sheffield Hallam University.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Concessions offered for
If you want to explore, understand and enhance your self-knowledge and relationships in your family, and with others, I would like to take that step with you. I am not an expert and I don't have all the answers but I can provide support, and have a genuine desire to assist with positive change if that is the direction you would like to go in.
Sometimes it might be difficult to travel to an appointment so I am happy to come to your home or make arrangements to see you as close to home as possible.
