Sue Steging PG Dip Couns, M.Med Sci Psychotherapy, MBACP (Sen Accred)
Choosing to see a therapist is an important step and can be challenging. Many things might bring you here. Your story is unique. Counselling and psychotherapy offer a chance to learn about yourself, your relationships and the choices that are or can become available to you.
Sometimes, the bad times just have to be lived through and support from someone outside the situation is helpful.
I have been trained in a number of approaches to psychotherapy and have experience of working briefly and in long-term relationships. I will work with you to provide consistent and reliable opportunities for you to pay attention to what is happening around you and the ways that past and present experience shapes your thoughts and feelings about yourself, your relationships and the situations in which you find yourself.
I try to be flexible in finding the approach that suits best for the circumstances. At the end of the process I hope you will have a better understanding of yourself that will provide a strong foundation for whatever happens next.
