MBACP, Dip in Counselling

About me

Hi I am Sue. I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor trained in both couple and individual practice.

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re facing challenges in your life that feel too heavy to carry on your own.

Perhaps something has recently changed, bringing new difficulties, or maybe life has always felt like a struggle and you're ready to explore the deeper issues that have been causing pain or unhappiness.

Recognising that things have become overwhelming takes courage. You're not alone—and together, we can explore what’s happening for you and work towards greater understanding and clarity.

I’m a fully qualified counsellor with 600+ counselling hours under my belt, and while I take a holistic approach, my work is grounded in well-established, evidence-based counselling theories and methods. These approaches have been researched, refined, and proven effective over time—and they continue to evolve to meet the needs of people just like you.

I offer counselling for individuals and couples, both in person and online. I hold specialist training in both areas, recognising that each requires a distinct approach and expertise. I also provide support around sexual issues, including kink, when relevant to your personal journey.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work to the highest professional and ethical standards. I’m a straightforward, down-to-earth counsellor with extensive life experience, and I believe strongly in transparency throughout the therapeutic process. You have a right to understand the work we’re doing together, so wherever possible, I’ll explain each stage of therapy—helping you feel informed, empowered, and in control of your own journey.

To make counselling as accessible as possible, I offer evening and weekend appointments—because I understand that daytime sessions aren't always practical.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
