About me

About me

As a therapist and counsellor, I welcome clients from a wide and diverse range of backgrounds, genders and ages. I have experience of working with clients from the LGBTQIA+ community as well as people who identify as Neurodivergent. I also work with older adults with their unique social and personal experience of the world. I believe that therapy should be accessible to all including the cost and will be happy to negotiate a price for your sessions which works for you

How can I help

I help clients with a range of issues including anxiety, depression and low-self esteem. Whatever you are feeling, I will listen to your thoughts and concerns with empathy and compassion and help you make sense of your feelings and emotions in a safe, confidential and inclusive space.

How do I work

As a psychotherapist and a person with lived experience, I can help you to gain a deeper understanding of your internal world. As you gain a kind acceptance of why you feel the way you do, you can start to shift patterns of negative feelings and start to feel stronger and more connected within yourself.

I respect the uniqueness of each client I work with and will adapt my approach to meet your needs, checking in with you regularly to ensure that you feel comfortable and that we are going in the right direction and pace for you.

I will be happy to answer any questions you have about the process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am a full member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I provide flexible online therapy which has the benefit of making it easy to attend. All you need is a comfortable and private space to talk to me from.

There is an initial free online or phone introduction where we will discuss why you want to come to therapy, what you feel your issues are and your expectations of therapy. I will explain how I work. After this initial meeting, we can decide if we would like to continue together. If I feel that I am not the best person to help you, I will try to find a recommendation for you.
