Sue Lilley MSc MBACP (Accred.)
I am an accredited and experienced counsellor who offers a safe, confidential, non judgmental and friendly counselling service for individuals, couples and families in the Chester area.
I was trained integratively which means I am able to use a blend of techniques where appropriate such as the person centred approach, cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis and narrative therapy. Each person is an individual and therefore my approach is tailored to individual needs.
Problems can sometimes seem overwhelming and it is often difficult to see a way forward. Counselling can be a powerful and effective way to enable you to make changes in your life by giving you time to reflect and become more aware of the issues as well as the choices you have.
I have achieved accreditation with The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their code of ethics. I am also a qualified and experienced supervisor of other counsellors.
Please feel free to e mail or call me if you have any queries.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
£40 per 50 minute session for individuals and £40 per 60 minute session for couples and families payable by cash or cheque at each session. Corporate rate is £50 per session.
For couples counselling I focus on giving each person the space and time to hear each other, refocus on their relationship, listen and understand each others views and feelings in a place that is safe and non judgemental.
My counselling practice is opposite the shopping centre of Hoole and is close to Chester town centre and Chester railway station and very close to Hoole Road and the major bus routes. There is on road parking available if you choose to arrive by car.
