About me

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Sadly issues like anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues and depression can make life feel overwhelming

Deciding to access counselling, then finding the right counsellor can make people feel worried. We can talk about what counselling involves and if it's right for you.

We would work together to explore your feelings and reactions to what is or has happened in your life. I am fully qualified as an Integrative Counsellor which means we can find a method of working that fits your needs and personality. You do not need to feel ashamed or embarrassed about anything you share and I will listen with sensitivity and compassion.

I am fully qualified and a member of the BACP which has strict ethical guidelines to ensure that our time together is safe, professional and confidential. My areas of expertise and experience are detailed below.

We would start with an inital phone call to discuss times, the nature of your concerns and fees. We would then meet for an hour session before deciding if you would like to continue. I offer telephone and online counselling too.

I offer term time counselling to parents who stuggle to find childcare and very young children are welcome at any point.

If you are in South East London or Lewisham I offer face to face sessions. Because the pandemic has changed so much of how we work I also offer online sessions wherever you are in the UK from Plymouth to Edinburgh.

Training, qualifications & experience

Foundation degree in Integrative Counselling including Person Centred, Pyschodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I am trained in bereavement counselling.

I have worked with clients who have brought a range of material and this experience is detailed below.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
