About me
Sometimes we find ourselves at a place in life which is unfamiliar, unexpected or even overwhelming, perhaps experiencing depression, anxiety or pain, or otherwise finding ourselves in a place which is disappointingly familiar - repeating patterns from the past that we seem unable to escape from.
It takes courage to seek help from a professional, but if you can take that first step, you could find yourself on a journey that is not only helpful or rewarding, but potentially life-changing - being heard and understood by another.
This is very different to chatting with friends and family and it can be a relief to talk about yourself in a space which is safe, confidential and non judgmental.
Counselling can help you to address issues that are troubling you in your day to day life, as well as considering how the past and patterns of thought and behaviour that you grew up with, now influence the present.
I am a professionally qualified psychodynamic counsellor / psychotherapist working with adults. I am based in St Albans and offer weekly sessions on a long or short term basis according to your needs and am conveniently located to see clients from the surrounding area including Watford, Hatfield and Harpenden.
If you would like to meet up for an initial appointment to consider whether counselling could be of help to you, then please ring to book an appointment, and following this we can then discuss a suitable time and day should you decide to continue.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
