I am an experienced & professionally qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, with many years of experience working in both private practice and in more specialised counselling organisations. My practise is based in Brighton & Horsham. I offer short and long term counselling to individuals, in a confidential and safe space, in which to explore whatever is currently troubling you.
I see people for a wide range of different issues including anxiety & depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, and many other issues that people may seek therapy for. I have experience of working in womens organisations with issues around drug and alchohol use, mental health difficulties and with clients who have experienced early childhood trauma, as well as many years in private practise with both men and women. I also run groups for understanding low mood & depression, and stress management.
I have an integrative approach, I trained as a Psychodynamic counsellor and continued my professional development in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I am interactive and share my thoughts and feelings with you, to enable you to develop more awareness to develop a better relationship with yourself. With greater awareness of ourselves we can create more of what we want in our lives, and enhance our relationships with others.
You may need a few sessions to focus on something in particular or for a deeper exploration longer term work may be more helpful. In our initial meeting we can discuss your personal needs, to decide what will be most effective for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy
MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy ( training at London Gestalt Centre)
I am comitted to my personal and professional development and attend many training seminars.
As a Gestalt therapist I work with what is present for you in the here and now, supporting you to become more aware of your fixed patterns or beliefs that may be stopping you from living the life you want for yourself. My initial counselling training was psychodynamic and I combine these two approach's, to tailor your needs. Gestalt therapy incorporates some very similar concepts that are used in CBT therapy which I draw from if I believe this will best support your needs.
I have worked in a variety of settings both in the voluntary sector and in private practice.
I currently work for a local charity providing counselling/psychotherapy to men & women with mental health difficulties. This includes a wide range of issues including anxiety ,depression, trauma, childhood abuse, bereavement, long term illness and diagnosis along with many other issues.
I have been in private practice for over 10 years and offer counselling/psychotherapy to both men and women for a wide range of issues.
