About me

My name is Stuart and I thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

I am a fully qualified Person Centred Counsellor and it is the counselling model I use with clients. An important element in counselling is the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor & client. It’s my hope that you will feel properly listened to and heard in an authentic way where you feel understood.

I offer a safe, non judgmental environment where you feel prized as a separate person than myself, where I won’t tell you what to think or feel. I believe that if there are answers to be found, they lie within yourself. My role within the relationship will be to empathise, challenge and reflect with you, while noticing my own thoughts or feelings as I share the counselling space with you.

My belief is that time spent exploring what is troubling you with a counsellor can lead to real lasting change. Counselling can help the individual to become more confident in understanding their own thoughts and feelings in the present, and those that could potentially cause distress in the future.

I understand how difficult it can be to take the step to have counselling. I do hope it is a step you decide to take as it can genuinely be one of the most helpful and rewarding things you can do for yourself.

My main experience (but not limited to) is working with clients in relation to loss and bereavement, panic/anxiety and depression.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
