About me

I have been working as a therapist for several years, having previously trained as a Youth Support Worker. I have experience of counselling adults of all ages, as well as young people from the age of 14. This is the minimum age I will work with.

I have found adaptability to be an important factor in working effectively with someone, whatever their age. I make a point of ensuring that sessions are a collaborative experience, which helps to develop an all important trust.

I work in the Southampton, Eastleigh and Totton areas and can offer appointments in the evenings and at weekends.

I offer both long and short term therapy, as well as a variety of different counselling approaches, adapting to meet your needs.

Our initial session will be a chance for us to get to know more about each other, helping us to assess if we can work effectively together. We will also review the counselling every few weeks to help ensure you are getting the most out of it.

I have experience of working with:

  • Depression
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Self harm
  • Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Family breakdown
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Fears of the future
  • Stress
  • Bullying
  • Sexuality
  • Gender identity
  • Drug and alcohol misuse.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified in 2013 in Person-Centred Counselling. After this, I completed a BA (Hons) in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling.

I have worked extensively with young people aged 13 to 25 as part of local authority provision and within various charities, as well as in secondary schools and colleges.

I have also worked with adults of all ages across a variety of settings and offer a wealth of experience and knowledge on working with sexuality and gender identity - I have written and delivered training on the subject. I have also developed and delivered training on anxiety, anger, confidence and self-harm.

Training I helped to develop has been delivered to police, the courts service, teachers, students, counsellors and youth support workers.
