Hello, thank you for looking at my profile.
We all have times in our lives when we need some help; issues with work, a problem, a situation, an event or a relationship that is bothering us. We can be anxious, depressed, confused, feel lonely, vulnerable or simply not listened to and understood.
If you are feeling and want help with any of the above then why not give me a call.
I am a friendly, integrative counsellor, which means I work with different therapeutic approaches and adapt these to suit your individual needs. My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where we can explore anything you may be struggling with. I offer both short and long-term counselling but ultimately the choice of how long we work together is yours.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and as such I am bound by their ethical code of practice.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training is as an integrative counsellor, with the main elements being transactional analysis, psychodynamics, cognitive behavioural therapy and person-centred counselling. I qualified in 2008 and have a diploma in therapeutic counselling. I am also registered with and a member of the BACP.
I've spent a considerable amount of time working with MIND and have a great deal of experience with anxiety, depression and stress related conditions.
I have also spent a considerable amount of experience in the corporate world and am well aware of the demands and stresses that both mangers and team members face, it's an area I have a keen interest in and can help with counselling, mentoring and coaching.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
