About me

Why Counselling?
Whatever brings you to counselling, whether it is a personal crisis, trauma, depression, anxiety, isolation, a relationship or internal conflict, loss, or simply a need to talk and be listened to, I can offer you a safe and creative space to explore your life challenges.

As a trained and experienced counsellor, and having gained valuable life experience, I work without judgment, and in an atmosphere of total trust.

I aim to get to know you, so that we can work together to discover and build upon your innate strengths and wisdom - qualities that will help you to live a healthy, rewarding and full life.

How I Work
I work as a Psychosynthesis Counsellor/Psychotherapist. This means that I work creatively; with mind, body and soul, the conscious and the unconscious, the personal (how the various parts of your personality function together in your life) and the transpersonal (your connection with your deepest self, your purpose and potential).

I use an intuitive and relational approach with each client. This means that each session is tailored and relevant to what is happening for you right now.

I also have over 20 years experience of coaching individuals and teams to achieve their greatest potential in life.

I work with individuals and couples, either face to face or online - whichever suits you best. I can offer short or long term counselling, according to your circumstances.

What to do Next

I suggest that you contact me by phone or e-mail initially with any questions. Then, if you decide you would like to go ahead, we can arrange our first session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Some of the Benefits of Counselling
Counselling is for anyone who wants to improve or maintain their state of wellbeing. It helps to raise our awareness of who we are and how we experience our life, how we relate to others and make sense of the changing circumstances of our lives. It helps us to accept our past and come to terms with those things that have caused pain and suffering, live in the present time with awareness and mindfulness, and move towards our future potential and live a rich and purposeful life. We are all whole beings and yet sometimes get stuck in a place of confusion, fear, doubt, anxiety, grief, where we feel 'less than' we'd like. Counselling can help you to find your Self, and become everything you can be.

Key details

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
