Stephen McAlynn, PG Dip NCS (Accred)
Life can challenge us by grinding us down over time or by throwing situations at us that we cannot see coming. Counselling can help us to manage these life experiences in a way that will empower you to take control back. Considering counselling can be daunting and I am here to make this process as comfortable as possible as the rewards for taking this step can be rewarding and empowering for you.
I am an experienced counsellor with over six years experience working in the Voluntary, Private and Employee Assistance settings. From my comfortable, safe and accessible counselling premises, I aim to offer you the space to explore the areas of your life that cause you difficulty and impact negatively your mental wellbeing.
I have worked both in the short term Solution focused brief therapy model and also long term therapy for those clients where this is most appropriate. Prior to commencing therapy I always provide a free consultation over the phone to discuss your needs.
I am fully ensured and committed to at least 30 hours of CPD and have a wide range of CPD courses planned for the near future.
If you feel counselling is for you, I am more than happy to discuss taking the steps to your first session.

I am very passionate about anxiety in all its forms whether that be social anxiety, OCD, or phobias. I believe in the person centred approach empowering people to tailor there own solutions to their unique situation. The effects and reasons for anxiety are very individual and can affect many areas of your life. Especially today in the digital age it is easy to get lost in the demands of who we SHOULD be rather than who we are and WANT to be. Through talking you can tackle your anxiety, its roots and find a way suited to you to move forward.
