About me
I have twenty-five years of experience as an Integrative Psychotherapist and 15 years offering supervision and training. I offer short and longer-term counselling and psychotherapy to adult clients.
People will seek therapy in times of difficulty and stress, when their ability to manage their emotional life, profession and relationships is stretched and possibly in crisis. Some may have experienced trauma and have been completely overwhelmed.
As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I adapt my approach to my clients' needs, drawing on various perspectives to explore within a confidential and safe setting, what may restrict and promote their progress.
I have worked extensively in fostering and post-adoption, in addition to my private practice.
I hold a BA(Hons) in Social Anthropology and S. E. Asian Studies (1986), a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (2004) and Clinical Supervision (2009) and am a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Embodied Relational Therapy (2006), placing value on body-orientated perspectives in recognition that emotional difficulties may, for example, be felt in the body as tension, lack of energy and motivation. This dual focus allows the body and the mind to be involved in the therapy.
I have levels I, II & III in Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) a technique developed for working with trauma.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
