About me

Has watching the tv series ‘change your mind, change your life’ and 'couples therapy' made you realise there is work that you would like to do to improve your life?

Life can be difficult and painful at times and we could all benefit from a safe space to make sense of and process difficult emotions, develop our resilience and coping strategies.

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Counsellor but can also call upon skills and experience I have gained through additional training in clinical hypnotherapy, coaching and person-centred counselling. This training enables me to offer clients different routes into exploring their issues and finding solutions that can help them.

I can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, low confidence and low self-esteem.

I have considerable experience working with clients struggling with health anxiety.

I have also worked with numerous clients struggling with a wide range of phobias and working together we have managed to reduce a debilitating issue to one that no longer has a major impact on a client’s life and general wellbeing.

I am also interested in helping clients resolve relationship issues (personal and professional), and work with clients to establish more healthy boundaries within their relationships.

Whilst our problems can often feel overwhelming and affect every aspect of our lives, the wonderful thing about counselling is that not only does it help to tackle immediate sources of distress, the positive effects can create ripple effects across different aspects of a client's life. Therapy can often alter deep-rooted habits and behaviour and replace these with new ways of operating which are better for our general health and wellbeing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
