About me

Hi, I'm Steph.

Feelings of anxiety ?? Things in life feeling a little too much at the moment ?? You don't have to go through it alone. Emotions can sometimes be hard to articulate let alone understand yourself but with therapy it is my job to work with you to help get you to a better place. I aim to help clients feel at ease when taking this step into therapy and strive to create a safe and non-judgemental place to explore all emotions or situations. I also offer an LGBTQIA+ inclusive and safe space for all.

My aim is to help give a client a person to talk to, whether it makes sense or not. I work mainly from a person-centred model, letting the client take control of where the session goes and working with the information provided in the session.

As well as a Person-Centred practice, I can fluctuate modalities to work from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpretive practices and pull from a multitude of models to give each client the best unique experience possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

I currently have 2 years counselling and look to constantly expand my experience and professional achievements.

I have a level 6 qualification in counselling and psychotherapy, and a Level 3 in mental health training.

My one-to-one experience mainly focused around helping clients work through any anxiety they were having, understanding depression and grief, and working with autism/ADHD however I am not limited to these topics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
