Stephanie Pearce Dip Couns (MBACP)
We all have times in our lives when we find it difficult to cope. Counselling is a place to work out what is actually going for us, in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space. Sometimes we are aware of issues that are causing our distress and sometimes not. Being able to work out exactly what is going on for each of us as an individual, can be the key to change.
I am experienced in working with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, loss and grief that can leave us feeling sad, angry, lonely, hopeless and empty and cause relationship problems. Many of us find that being able to speak honestly, in confidence and without judgement can help us gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and what is really going for us. I offer a safe place to explore your individual needs and work with you to find the very best solutions to the specific issues that are hindering your life and help you live the fulfilling and rewarding life you deserve.
I am a humanistic, integrative counsellor which means that I believe you are the expert on yourself. I do not offer advice but work with you to get to where you want to be. Integrative counselling means I bring different approaches together to offer a tailor made therapy for you. We can work together for as few or as many therapy sessions that you feel you need.
I am aware from my own therapy of the rewards and challenges that can be met through having therapy and I am always understanding and respectful of what is going on for you.
I specialise in drug and alcohol misuse and addiction.
The most important aspect of therapy is to be able to speak honestly about how we really feel and think. To do this, we have to feel safe and trust our therapist. For this reason, I offer a reduced introductory fee of £20 to establish that we can work together.
As a registered member of the BACP, I follow it's ethical framework and I am a registered therapist with Oxygen insurance.
I work from a calm and peaceful room in the Hanover area of Brighton.
