If you are struggling with depression, bereavement, anxiety or just feeling low and want to make changes so you can feel more in control and able to cope, I am here to help.
I provide Counselling 1:1 in either Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent or outside in the beautiful Trentham Gardens.
Sometimes it isn't about being clinically depressed or so anxious you can't get out, sometimes you just know that you are feeling sad and low and can't seem to be able to pick yourself out of it. Maybe you find yourself struggling to get through each day, hiding behind a smile, convincing everyone you are coping. I can help you gain skills to deal with these feelings.
We will work together discovering what is happening around you and the impact it is having on your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. You are then able to make decisions about changes you want to make, but also come to terms with situations that can’t be changed.
Whether it is a specific issue you want to understand, or a situation you want to come to terms with, I am here to help you transform how you feel.
Specialties in Counselling
This provides you a setting to be inspired by the natural world around you, it could be the seasons, the trees or the fact that you can feel the warmth of the sun. So if the idea of sitting inside feels too intense, or you naturally find walking helpful, this could be the perfect way to work.
- Stress and Burnout
I work with professionals that are struggling with the pressures of responsible jobs, which have specific roles that are often target driven with tight deadlines. If this sounds like you I want you to feel confident I understand the pressure that you are under and how this can affect your relationships with partners and children outside work, as well as within the workplace. If the stress is building and you want to make changes before you burnout, then Counselling can help work out what changes can be made to get life back in balance.
Whether you have just lost a parent, partner, child, relative or friend the pain of loss can be unbearable. I work with those grieving at this painful time in their lives and help them discover how to live when the pain of loss is unbearable. Whether the death has been days, weeks, moths or years, if you can't see a way forward and it is hard to talk to other people around you, I want to reassure you that our work together will help you cope.
- Living with illness
Many individuals who have long term health conditions, such as MS, or terminal heath conditions such as Cancer, find it hard to talk through their concerns about their health with partners and family as they don't want to worry them. The benefit of working with me in counselling, is that I can provide an impartial ear and you are able to open up about your fears and concerns, without fear of being judged, or told not to be negative. Living with illness can be very lonely, even when you are surrounded and supported by people who love you.
Other areas of experience include
