About me

Supporting you to rediscover your identity, cope with life changes and build self-esteem

Life can feel uncertain when you're in the middle of big changes. Transitions can bring up self-doubt, anxiety, and a deep sense of uncertainty about the future.

You might be scared of making the wrong decisions, wondering if you’ll ever find the right partner, job or career path, or if you’ll ever feel like you really belong.

You might feel like everyone else has a plan but you're stuck, unsure of what's next. You might be trying to find your place, but feeling like it doesn't exist. It can be frustrating to feel lost when you're trying to move forward. You don't have to do this alone.

I'm passionate about supporting people who are struggling with identity and change, whether that means adjusting to a new phase of life, rebuilding confidence, or making sense of who you are.

  • Maybe you're adjusting to a breakup, a career shift, or questioning what you really want from relationships.
  • Maybe you're exploring your sexuality or identity
  • You may be neurodivergent or coming to terms with a new diagnosis.

I provide a safe, affirming space where you can work through these experiences at your own pace.

While I cannot diagnose anyone with autism or ADHD, we can explore your experiences together and figure out what they mean for you.

Through counselling, we will work towards becoming more grounded, self-assured, and clear about your direction, so that you can move forward with confidence in who you are and the choices you make.

I also have an interest in working with people affected by family secrets and complex family dynamics. This was the topic of study for my masters dissertation which helped me understand how these experiences shape identity, self-esteem and relationships.

If you work with me I’ll help you:

  • Feel more confident and comfortable in yourself - so you can better understand yourself (your sexuality, neurodivergence, or who you are following life transitions), and so you can express yourself freely, without being limited by how others see you.
  • Find where you belong - discover where you fit in, whether in relationships, communities, or career spaces, without feeling like you have to change who you are
  • Become more independent and better prepared for challenges - so you can make empowered decisions about relationships or work, and live with the confidence that you can adjust to changes and handle any challenges that come your way.
  • Find hope and motivation for the future - so you can move forward with a renewed sense of purpose, whether that’s embracing a new relationship or a new phase of life, adjusting to a diagnosis, or discovering a path that feels right for you.

Why work with me?

I have had my own experiences with life transitions, figuring out my identity, and being impacted by mental health stigma, which have shaped my approach as a counsellor.

  • Lived experience with transitions - moving between countries and adjusting to new cultures helped me understand identity shifts, belonging, and change. If you are facing immigration, relocation, loss, or changes in identity, you might find comfort in a counsellor who has lived these challenges.
  • Realising and coming to terms with my LGBT identity - attuned me to the struggles and complexities of figuring out who you are, accepting yourself and dealing with societal expectations and pressures.
  • Seeing and experiencing the impacts of mental health stigma within different cultures - I know what it's like to feel like you can’t find the words or you can’t get your words out at the start of counselling. I can help you find your voice.
  • Self-Esteem challenges – I have personal insight into how struggles with identity, life changes, and belonging impact self-esteem. As a result of this I strive to help clients accept themselves, build self-esteem and discover their own power.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
