About me

Do you need time to re-evaluate your life story in the context of the place that you find yourself in now? We all experience difficulties at some stage in our lives which can affect confidence, self-esteem and relationships. Healing comes from developing a deeper connection with your core self and raising awareness of your ability to make changes.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (2011)and am a fully Registered and Accredited Member of the BACP with ten years experience of counselling. I am particularly interested in working with couples and am working towards completing an Advanced specialist diploma in relationship counselling, (having successfully completed the theoretical training). Outside of my private practice, I work as an Oncology Counsellor (since September 2013) at the Force Cancer Support Centre, Exeter where I co-facilitate groups as well as work with individuals and couples.

I previously worked for more than two decades as a Registered Nurse.

As a counsellor I bring together my life experiences, professional work and a deep sense of interest in mental health and wellbeing. I am particularly interested in how we relate to one another and the impact that adversity can have on our resilience within our relationships including, with ourselves.

Taking the first step in seeking support can be challenging in itself, it is therefore important to me that my clients feel relaxed in my company, which helps to develop a trusting and supportive relationship.

I am curious to hear about your inner world and believe that you have the capacity within you to be guided by your own wisdom. However, when life throws us curve balls our resilience is often compromised. I aim to help you make sense of this and with renewed insight, begin to understand the options that are available to you, working toward making any changes in your life or acceptance of your situation.
