About me

I am a dedicated and compassionate Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and psychotherapy. My mission is to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic space for individuals to explore whatever distresses them, to help them overcome challenges and to facilitate their personal growth.

I have experience working with adults who present a range of emotional and psychological difficulties including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood/sadness, loss & bereavement, trauma, relationship issues (e.g., forming and maintaining relationships, separation, divorce, affairs relationship difficulties), and work-related stress and difficulties.

I have worked in a variety of public and private mental health settings such as: the Community Mental Health Team (NHS); Psychotherapy Department (NHS); Eating Disorders Clinic (NHS); Recurrent Depression Clinic (NHS); Department of Children & Adolescents (INPSY – Greece). I have been working privately since 2006.

I have also been involved in teaching, training, and supervising counselling psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors for more than 15 years.

I offer face-to-face therapy in central London and in Fulham. I also offer therapy online.

Philosophy

I consider that psychological distress, in all its varied manifestations (e.g., stress, depression, anxiety, phobias, persistent disturbances of eating behaviour, addiction to substances, etc.), is a warning sign that tells us that something isn’t right. It’s the way that our body is alerting us that we need to address what is troubling us. Psychological therapy can help us address our emotional distress in a variety of ways such as, for example, gaining a better understanding of ourselves and our relationships, developing new ways of thinking and behaving, making decisions/choices that better fit our needs and enabling us to find ways of living that are more meaningful and fulfilling to us.

Therapeutic approach

As a relationally focused integrative practitioner, I consider that every individual has the potential for positive change and personal growth. The key aim of my therapeutic work is to offer you a safe and supportive therapeutic space where we work collaboratively to empower you to overcome any difficulties that you are experiencing and to facilitate your journey toward personal growth and well-being.

Being mindful that each client is unique with your own set of life experiences and challenges, I draw on a variety of different therapeutic approaches (including psychodynamic, humanistic, transactional analysis and cognitive-behavioural) to tailor my approach to best suit your needs and goals.

Free 15-minute telephone or video call

You may have come across my online profile because there is currently something in your life that is causing you distress and you would like help with. If would like to further explore whether psychological therapy might suit your needs and goals, please do not hesitate to reach out to me to arrange a free 15-minute telephone or video call to discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy. I will also be able to address any questions that you have about how I work, the therapeutic process and practicalities (e.g., scheduling appointments, fees, etc.). We can then collaboratively agree on whether it would be appropriate to proceed with an initial consultation appointment that will allow us to collaboratively develop a personalised therapeutic plan that best meets your needs and to agree on the focus and duration of our therapeutic work.
