We, the founders of Start Fresh, are based in Birmingham in the West Midlands.
All of our team members are qualified counsellors, who hold individual membership with the BACP which meets the professional standards for counselling and psychotherapy. Some of our practitioners are also registered members of the BACP. Our practice is governed by standards set by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
As a team from diverse heritages, we have combined experience of working with a range of people from all different walks of life and different presenting issues. We have worked with clients with numerous issues including mental health, self worth, domestic abuse, rape and sexual violence and many more.
We endeavour to work with our clients in a way that shows empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence; as we believe that with these core conditions in place we are able to facilitate psychological growth and healing. We work confidentiality, without judgement and observe our clients experiences with an open mind.
The achievements of clients inspires our commitment to the process of changing lives for the better.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
