About us
Welcome to Spread Your Wings Therapy
Hi, I’m Lynda—founder of Spread Your Wings Therapy and a qualified counsellor. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can be yourself, talk openly, and feel truly heard.
I work with people who are navigating difficult emotions, past experiences, and big life questions. Whether you’re feeling anxious, stuck, low in self-esteem, or just not like yourself lately, you don’t have to go through it alone.
Using a person-centred approach, I tailor each session to you. Together, we’ll explore what’s been going on, at your pace, in a space that’s kind and confidential.
I can help with:
Anxiety and overwhelm
Low self-worth and confidence
Trauma or abuse (past or recent)
Relationship or communication struggles
Feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of who you are
Life transitions, stress, or burnout
As someone who has also been through life’s ups and downs, I understand how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen and support you. My own experience of therapy inspired me to become a counsellor—I know how important that first step can be.
If you're ready to explore what’s going on, or even if you're just thinking about starting therapy, I’d love to hear from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
🧠 My Training and Qualifications – Supporting You with Care and Integrity
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I work to the highest professional and ethical standards. This means you can trust that our sessions will be safe, confidential, and focused entirely on your wellbeing. I also attend regular supervision—this isn’t just about professional standards, but about making sure I’m always reflecting, learning, and bringing the best of myself into the room for you.
Whether you're navigating overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, trauma, or self-doubt, you deserve support that is ethical, compassionate, and tailored to your needs—and that’s what I’m committed to offering.
🌱 My Experience – Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
I’ve had the privilege of working with people aged 18 to 70, from many different walks of life. Everyone’s story is unique, but what remains the same is the courage it takes to reach out—and the healing that can come from feeling heard and understood.
I’ve supported:
Teenagers navigating exam stress, anxiety, and identity
Young adults facing relationships, self-esteem, or life direction struggles
Adults in later life working through grief, change, or long-held emotional pain
Whatever your age or background, my role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of what you’re going through.
🎒 My Future Plans – Expanding Support for Young People
In September 2025, I’ll begin specialist training in children’s counselling. This will deepen my skills in helping younger clients process their feelings in creative, age-appropriate ways. My long-term goal is to support children both in private practice and in schools, where early intervention can make a lasting difference.
I believe in lifelong learning, and everything I study is with one purpose: to offer better care and deeper support to the people who come to me.
💬 How I Can Help You
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself, I’m here to help. My approach is gentle, respectful, and person-centred—meaning we work together in a way that feels right for you.
In our sessions, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings at your pace. Whether you want to build confidence, make sense of your past, or simply have someone listen without judgment, counselling can help you feel lighter, clearer, and more in control.
Whatever you're facing, you don't have to face it alone.
Member organisations *

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

💷 Fees
My counselling sessions are £30 per hour. I aim to keep my fees as affordable as possible because I believe therapy should be accessible to those who need it.
I also offer a limited number of reduced-rate spaces for trainee counsellors—please feel free to get in touch if you're in training and looking for low-cost support while you work toward your qualification.
If you're ready to make a commitment to your wellbeing, I offer a 15% discount when you book four or more sessions in advance. This can be a helpful way to plan ahead and invest gently in your personal growth.
If you have any questions or want to chat about what might work best for you, I’d be happy to talk it through.
