About me

Hi, I’m Sophie, I offer a: compassionate, warm, safe space for us to develop a better understanding of your current difficulties. As we collaboratively explore the challenges you might be facing, we can then discover appropriate tools and techniques to manage these challenges - looking to develop resources to meet the difficult demands you may be facing.

I’m a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (PGCert Level 6, PGDip, Level 7). CBT is an effective, evidence based therapeutic approach that looks at the link between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours to be able to better understand our mental health difficulties and enables us to look at where we can make changes to support your mental health. I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP) and a member of the BABCP and apply these memberships through considered, ethical practice.

I have experience working in Primary Care Mental Health settings and within the third sector. I am currently offering support remotely during the pandemic through Zoom.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
