About me

Hi! I'm Sophie - Welcome!

I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, and I believe  that getting to know ourselves is a lifelong journey. Life can be complex and emotionally demanding, and sometimes we need space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what's going on inside.

If you're going through a tough time right now, finding your way to therapy can feel like a big -and sometimes scary step. But you're not alone, and reaching out is a powerful move. Talking things through with someone can bring relief, clarity and even hope.

Therapy offers a chance to explore your thoughts and emotions with curiosity and compassion. Together, we can begin to understand how past experiences might be influencing you now. With greater self-awareness often comes a deeper sense of  resilience, confidence and connection - both with yourself and others.

How Can Therapy Support You:

  • Deepen your understanding of yourself
  • Cope with stress, anxiety and feel more grounded
  • Build healthier boundaries and more connected relationships
  • Explore emotional patterns with curiosity and care
  • Feel more confident, independent and self assured

My Specialism: Supporting Musicians and Creatives

As a practicing musician myself, I understand the intense emotional landscape of creative life. The highs of performing, the pressure to produce, and the quiet moments.

I work with people navigating the unique challenges  of the music and creative industries, including:

  • Identity and self worth - especially when tied to output, image, or success
  • Burnout and disconnection - when something you love starts to feel like a burden
  • Performance anxiety, perfectionism and creative overwhelm
  • Relationship strain, emotional dysregulation, or life in flux while touring
  • The experience of being highly sensitive, neuro-divergent, or 'the emotional one' in high-pressure environments
  • Grief, reinvention, or rediscovery after major transition or losses

This work doesn't require you to explain the world you come from, I get it, and we'll work together to make sense of how it's shaped you and what you need now.

While I specialise in working with musicians and creatives, I welcome clients from all walks of life.

How I Work

I tailor our work to fit your unique experience and needs. I'm collaborative and down to earth and our sessions will move at a pace that feels  right for you.

I offer 50-minute weekly sessions online via Zoom and I work with both short-term and longer-term clients. Whether you're in a crisis, at a crossroads or just feeling disconnected from yourself, we can work together to reconnect and begin again.

If you're curious or want to know more, feel free to reach out - I'd love to hear from you.

What Happens Next?

I offer a free 15 minute phone call with no pressure or commitment - just a chance for us to chat and see whether working together feels like the right fit.

During this call, you're welcome to ask any questions you might have about the counselling process or how I work. I'll also ask you to share a little about what's bringing you to therapy, so I can get a sense of whether my approach and experience are the right match for your needs.

If we decide to move forward, sessions are held weekly, on the same day and time each week, for as long as feels helpful for you.

It's completely normal to feel a bit nervous about starting therapy. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported from the very beginning.

Prices:

  • 15- minute intro call - Free
  • 50- minute online session: £60

I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee for those on low incomes - feel free to ask about availability.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
