I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with children, young people and adults. I have over ten years experience working in education and the charity sector. As well as having a private practice I currently work part-time at a local sixth form centre as Staff Counsellor, Student Wellbeing Co-ordinator and Counselling Course tutor.
I believe passionately in promoting good mental health and wellbeing. I work with clients to explore a range of topics including adoption, anxiety, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, education, general counselling, health, identity, loss, mental health, pregnancy, redundancy, relationships, self-esteem, stress, young carers and work.
I work in an integrative way, drawing upon many different theoretical orientations. These include Person-Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt therapy among others. I respond to the individual needs and styles of the client and adapt each session appropriately. Sometimes it can be very useful to use a creative approach to problems and therefore we may also use play, art and sand-tray in our sessions.
I work with children, young people and adults.
All my counselling work is regularly supervised by qualified counselling supervision.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial appointment.
