About me
Welcome, my name is Sophie and I am so glad you're here.
If you’re seeking counselling, whether its to find support for the day to day problems in life, struggling with new feelings you can’t quite understand or a specific challenge you want to explore, you’ve found a place where you will be truly heard and understood.
I offer a safe, supportive space where you can express yourself freely and begin to make sense of your emotions. My approach is integrative, which means I tailor our sessions to fit you. Whether you prefer an explorative talking approach or would benefit from creative techniques and educational directive content, I will work with you to find what feels most helpful. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all journey, and together, we’ll find the right path for you.
With six years of experience, I have worked closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds who have faced trauma, survived domestic or childhood abuse, battled addiction, worked in emergency services, struggled with identity confusion and those that have experienced deep loss and grief. I understand how difficult it can be to open up, especially if you’ve felt unheard in the past. I want to reassure you that in our sessions, you will be met with warmth, empathy, and acceptance.
You don’t have to navigate this alone. Whenever you’re ready, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.
My sessions can be hosted online, on the phone or in person depending on what suits you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
